School

To all who actually read this, I apologize for being MIA. These last few weeks my advertising class has taken over my life.
Kristen, Mark, Blake and Denton are the only people that I have seen over the last two weeks and the thought of presenting a fantastic ADV 345 project is the only thing that has gone through my mind.
It all started four weeks ago. The five of us would meet twice a week and try to figure out what we were doing. It was totally unsuccessful until two weeks ago when we had both a test and a project.
I have heard horror stories about this class, but I never realized the true pain until two weeks ago. Pretty much everything else school and personally related was thrown out the door and my life became this project.
After last Wednesday and spending seven days in total, stress-filled hell, we handed in the project. It was beautiful- 28 pages of full-color, research and Kinko's binding. We then struggled with every last bit of energy to put together a presentation for last Friday. By Wednesday and Thursday night, we were holding our group meetings at restaurants so those over the legal age could order beers.
Immediately after our presentation, I threw my stuff into my friend, Ceceila's red VW bug and we raced home to Dallas. It was very relaxing to go home.
However, once at home, I realized how much I truly love to be in Austin. Three days in DFW suburbs make me want to vomit. After being thought to be a day care worker- because of my appearance and my sex- I am so happy to be out of that conservative, sexist, corporate wasteland. It was the place that I grew up, but it is definitely not a place that I want to go back to.
While in DFW, I had dinner with an ex, a guy that I spent much time in college with, and after conversation, I have even more reason to hate that wretched place.
I am safely at home in Austin, and I am ready for the challenge of finals!
